British Championships - Southern Lakeland
Several Saxons made it to the Lake District for the Individual and Relay Championships
Both events made use of some testing Lake District terrain, south west of Windermere. The High Dam area has a mix of woodland, semi-open and open land, all with plenty of contour detail plus crags and marshes. The area lacked paths, but a network of walls, both standing and ruined, meant there was often a handrail option (as long as the wall was correctly identified!).
Some Saxons results: Sarah Howes 20th W55L (5.5km 270m), Jean Fitzgerald 29th W60L (5.1km 255m), Mark Glaisher 8th M65L (5.9km 305m).

The Relays were held on adjacent Summer House Knott. We had two teams in this, both enjoying the fine arena setting, on a second day of sunny weather. Saxon Queens (Sarah, Jean & Rowan) were 13th, running up on W50.
