Event Report

Here's Andrew's Report:-

"KNC25 at Brasted produced another good turnout with 42 people braving the cold evening. Please remember to email your request for a map before the event to avoid disappointment.

At the start there were six different first controls with three quarters of the competitors choosing control 67 as their first control.

In processing the results it became apparent that one competitor mis-interpreted the event rules and collected the controls in any order. Having discussed the issue with the league co-ordinator, and in the spirit of the competition, it has been decided that they will be credited with the score for collecting one series and any subsequent controls from the second series. This effectively means that a number of the second series controls collected out of order are considered as mis-punches.

Thanks to the control collectors for helping after their runs. See you all at Millbank next Tuesday.

Some further thoughts

Brasted Chart is another venue ideally suited for a KNC round. The hilly and green-in-places terrain allows an A4 1:7,500 scale map to work, with plenty of detail to provide a range of potential control sites and attack points. There's an extensive network of paths too, offering 'direct or round' choices. Nevertheless Guntars Mankus, making his second appearance at a KNC, managed to reach all 20 controls within the hour to win, and Susan Crickmore was the first Lady - Well Done!  Head over to the DFOK website for the control sequences and split times http://dfok.co.uk/

Thank you Andrew and DFOK for an enjoyable course and event.

The top League positions show one of the closest competitions for some years, with Neil on 472 points and Brendon on 470, so it's all to play for at the final round.

I hope you will be able to come to the Millbank event next Tuesday, and be able to stay for the League presentations and award of the Nick Hope Cup. See the Event Details for more information.
