Prize Giving

Prize Giving will take place shortly after the race finish. Lots of prizes, especially for newcomers.

Location

Nearest town: Tunbridge Wells

Directions / Parking

There is free parking in Dunorlan Park at both the Pembury Road and Hall’s Hole Road car parks. The Pembury Road (A264) car park tends to fill up quickly with other park users and we would therefore advise competitors to make use of the car park at the Hall's Hole Road entrance to the park, which is just a 5 minute walk from the start/finish, café and toilets. The nearest postcode for the Pembury Road car park is TN2 3QN. For the Halls Hole Road car park it is TN2 4RE

Course Information

Three Courses:

45 minute ‘Score’ race for beginners and improvers – How many can you find in the time available?

A ‘Line’ Course suitable for Juniors (Yellow) <2km

60 minute ‘Score’ race for experienced orienteers – Similar controls with rules to make you run further/challenge you more!

As it’s the summer, checkpoints will be located in easy to access areas. There will be no jungle bashing required, stinging nettles or brambles. It’s a race designed for shorts.

Explanation of Score courses

You don't have to visit all the controls! There is usually a time limit, instead of a set course. Points are scored for visiting controls, and deducted for finishing over the time limit. You decide which controls to visit, and in which sequence. Sometimes controls have different points values. You will need to carry a watch or phone, so you know how long you have been out.
