Explanation of event levels
Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive and used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships. Virtual events are where there are no physical controls being used. Your presence at a control is registered using an App on your mobile phone, normally the free MapRun App.

Beginners: Saxons volunteers are very happy to help beginners understand the courses, maps and timing equipment used at our events. It may be possible to arrange for someone to meet you before your start.

Registration information will be recorded on computer. Photographs and/or names may appear on our website or in the media. We will seek permissions where this involves young persons. Competitors are responsible for their own personal safety and for assessing their own abilities to complete the course. Events results will be published on the Internet and sent to British Orienteering

Cancellation Policy
Should the event be cancelled for reasons beyond the control of the club, the club will endeavour to notify everyone who has pre-entered. The club will also seek to add a notice on the club’s website as soon as practicable. Refunds or credits for a future run will be issued in due course, less any contribution to essential costs that may have been incurred by the club which cannot be reasonably recovered due to cancellation.
