Explanation of event levels
Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive and used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships. Virtual events are where there are no physical controls being used. Your presence at a control is registered using an App on your mobile phone, normally the free MapRun App.

Report
A great turn out today at the 2nd of the Kent Orienteering League events at Trosley including 36 Air Cadets who all successfully navigated the Score course, with 129 Senior Squadron clearing the course in just under 48mins and winning the overall course! Great result.
Also some great performances on the yellow course with Lordswood School out in force, all finishing with excellent times. Good luck to those who are going to compete in the British Schools Orienteering Championships tomorrow at Shorne Country Park.
Saxons took the win on the Green course in the form of Peter Martin, with Sarah Howes, (also Saxons) as the First Lady and 6th overall. On the Blue course, DFOK took the honours with Antoine Pesenti taking the win from Simon Evans and DFOK representing 4 out of the top 5.
Great also to see so many on the Orange course developing their orienteering skills with the course being won by Lydia Wilgress a W21! Well done.
Thanks to Karen and Beryl for planning and organising, and a particular thank-you for only making the Blue course tackle the dreaded slope once! Thanks also to all the other helpers - many hands make light work. If you would like to find out more about volunteering and how to help at our Orienteering events, please contact Development.
See you all at the next one.
