Explanation of event levels
Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive and used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships. Virtual events are where there are no physical controls being used. Your presence at a control is registered using an App on your mobile phone, normally the free MapRun App.

What a hot day! Well done to all those that braved the swealtering conditions. Some really great performances today. On the Long Score, newcomer Tim Fowler took the win clearing the course within the 60 minutes, and that was after having completed Park Run earlier in the day! Congratulations too to Catherine Catchpole who won on the Short Score course with 190 points - only missing out on clearing the course as she hadn't seen control 58 on the map.
Some great junior racing going on today too - well done to Eloise Pauling on her first event finishing with 160 points and 1st W18 on the short score. Faster, but on the same points total, Ben Cronin put in a strong run as first M18. Adam Davidson was first in M14 category with 140 points and Alice Evans was first in the W12 category with 130 points.
A special mention to Tabitha and Felix Kelly. Great resilience from Tabitha W12 running on her own for the first time, and at only her second event, and Felix for being very brave after getting a splinter.
Look forward to seeing you at the next Saxons event at Capstone Country Park in Medway on 15th July.
