Kent Night Cup Final

Published: Fri 15 Mar 2024

The Final instalment of the 23/24 KNC season was at Knole Park. What will we do on our Thursday nights for the next 6 months?!

The fast terrain of Knole Park meant for an exciting final with 38 participants setting off to tackle David Kingdon's 60 minute score course. 20 controls in two sets, 90's and 100's with 2 dumb bells into the bargain. Results will be posted separately.

With 21 races this season and with Apres O pubs properly back on the agenda, it has been a great season of night racing.

Brendon Howe and Alison Howe took the overall series wins for Mens and Women's respectively, with John Cross and Sam Prior taking the Veteren honours and Alan Hickling and Julie Collins snagging the Super Vets titles. David Float and Sean Cronin were in the running for the Nick Hope Cup having been at all of the 21 events this season with David Float awarded the Cup.

It was also Mark Glaisher swan song as his 12 year stint as KNC co-ordinator came to an end.  Mark has made the series an enjoyable, sometimes competitive, sociable, challenging and hilarious weekly event throughout the dark winter nights and he was awarded a memento as a token of everyone's thanks.  Thank-you Mark.

Next season we see John Cross take the reins. Can't wait!
