Didn't go? Find out the fun you missed!!

32 Saxons took up the challenge to take part in this year's heat of the CSC. It was great to see a broad section of the membership take part, this resulting in some great individual contributions both from regular scorers as well as quite a few new faces. Well done to all those who took part.

To those of you who didn't take part, or have never considered CSC, you're missing some great fun and team camaraderie. Perhaps you should give it a go?

Background: The Compass Sport Cup is a national team completion for orienteering clubs. It consists of regional heats followed by a national final. Saxons have booked a place in the final for the last five years. There are ten age related courses on offer. The winner of each course will score 100 points for their club, 99 for 2nd, and so on. Only two scores from each course are eligible, with the best 13 scores for each club being tallied to decide the winner.

The overarching aim of the CSC is to be "... an inclusive club competition for all club members, and seeks to encourage club development across all age classes." The club actively supports our participation by covering the race entry fee, and also providing a travel stipend for travel. There's no reason not to take part.
