Public transport: Tricky. In the middle of a few railways. Lifts from various places are a possibility. Mail organiser with your pick-up/transport requests. Busses also an option and will get you very close.

Area/Map: 1:7,500. 5m contours. Spring 2007 map, Roger Maher. Take care crossing fences. Many have barbed wire. Ideally use the marked crossing points. Mainly parkland, some wood, undulating, and skool bill-dins. Take care when crossing roads.

Times: Mass start at 1930 prompt. 60 minute score. Course closes 2030. Controls being collected from 2035 (volunteers needed!). Late arrivals – maps left at start/clear punch if I am not there. Please mail me if you want to start earlier. Please arrive in good time for the start.

Equipment: SPORT IDENT Dibbers to hire if you don’t have one. Bring a map bag, compass, whistle highly advised. Descriptions on map only. Some sort of torch and a small back up/reserve.

Cost: Free

Course: Suitable for all abilities (various yellow/orange controls) 20 controls total. Anyone getting them all will be able to get more points by ‘map memory control revisiting’. Finish the course and punch the finish. You’ll then have your map taken off you as soon as you punch and given a new dibber which will be started for you. Use your remaining time to visit as many of the controls again, that you can remember! Same penalties for being late apply. You won’t be shown your map again till the 60 mins are up. Then you’ll get it back.

Prizes: At the pub afterwards. Please feel free to augment the prize-table.

Coming? Nice to know if you are coming to gauge how many maps we need to print off. E-mail or ring.

Après-O: The Bull, central downtown Benenden. www.thebullatbenenden.co.uk  Landlord and Landlady Mark and Lucy welcome you. Please pre-order food from the menu at registration.
