Saxons OC invite you to Kent Night Cup at Blean Wood

Location/Parking: Blean Wood, Carpark at TR080614. Between Faversham and Canterbury.

Take the M2 till it ends at Junction 7 and take the A299 (not A2) and come off at services 1km north of Dargate.

The pub has room for 16 cars so please do not all park there and leave no room for other guests. There should be plenty of room in the streets.

Note: The start/finish/registration/my car will be by the start of the Bridle way into the forest 100m south of this grid reference at the right angle bend in the road. (Same as last KNC there and Summer Informal I planned in May 08)

Public transport: Suggest Faversham station, 4 miles West of the area for the best pick up location with frequent trains from London. Contact organiser to arrange pick up or cycle from there, or if you need a lift from somewhere else, we may also be able to help! We promote Green Travel!

Area/Map: 1:10,000. 5m contours. Award winning Dave Kingdon Map. Pre-marked. 2005/6. A smallish area consisting of mainly white runnable forest, a big hill and stream valley, a wealth of point features, some earth workings and even some contour features.

Times: Mass Start 1930. Controls will start to be collected from 2035 (volunteers needed!). It maybe possible to start earlier – please mail.

Equipment: SPORT IDENT Dibbers - borrow if you don’t have one (25gbp fee for loss). Bring a map bag (especially if raining), compass, whistle highly advised. Cost: FREE

Courses: 60 minute Score. 1pt a control. 1pt deducted for every minute or part minute you are back late over 60:00. Don’t be back late! Take controls in any order. If you are completely new to Night O and would like help, make yourself known, ideally in advance, to the organiser. Help, friendly advice, etc. given on the night – just ask.

All fields are out of bounds.

Prizes: A select few – of grandeur to reflect entry fee – at the pub afterwards after all the controls are in – likely to be the late side of 2115.
